About
Hi, I'm Ji-Youn Jung! π
I am a second-year HCI Ph.D. student at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof. John Zimmerman.
My research empowers teams to innovate with AI by helping them maximize value while minimizing harm. I design tools and methods that embed responsible AI (RAI) principles into the earliest stages of the design process, allowing teams to de-risk ambitious ideas before writing a single line of code.
My current project is a GenAI-powered system for technology-to-market matchmaking, which proactively assesses commercial, technical, and ethical risks for new AI capabilities. I publish at leading HCI conferences (CHI, DIS), and my work has been recognized with a Best Paper Honorable Mention Award and UROVO Presidential Fellowship.
My approach is grounded in a human-centered design background from TU Delft (MSc) and Yonsei University (BSc).
See my publications on Google Scholar or view my CV. I share updates on Bluesky Social.
